Yoga in a 2nd language 🤔🤨
Going to classes taught in different languages is always pretty eye opening for me 👁️. I may speak/understand a language & I may often know what to expect in a yoga class but there can be such specific phrases used, idioms & colloquialisms that are unfamiliar.
It makes me think about the language I use, in my classes there are a high percentage of people for whom English is a second language. Most speak English to an incredible level but I know that there is often an extra level of concentration required listening to a language that is not your mother tongue. I try to keep my language simple but know I have to watch myself & make sure I don't make it too convoluted or verbose!
