Of all the things that occupy my mind, the state & future of our planet & what we as a species are doing & not doing about it, are the issues that provoke in me the deepest feelings of fear, anger, despair, powerlessness heart ache but also hope... Really lots of HOPE 🙏 That's so important. . I really hope I can channel some of that anger in particular into clear & decisive action. Ways in which I can change from within & ways that I can encourage larger scale change. It can really feel like you are just a little person in a crazy & disfunctional system at times. But if a 16 year old school girl can influence the world we can all do our little part . To me the most valuable actions we can take are- ☝️Truly try to understand the inter-connectivity of all life. This is really the key to it all 🔑. If we really understand that every little action we take has consequences & repercussions it. We will be unable to bumble along under the illusion that we are separate from other life around us (human, animal plant etc). If we really take this on board we would not be trashing our lovely blue planet 🌎 Then of course there are practical actions in no particular order. . 🥕Make plants form most of our diet. Just as we need millions of people doing zero waste imperfectly rather than a handful doing it perfectly, we need millions of people eating MOSTLY plants you don't necessarily need to become a strict vegan overnight. My friend @robbie developed this great system where he is allowed meat/fish on 40 days of the year only. Then the animal eating budget is used up. I thought this is a great way to start 👌! . ✈️Avoid flying whenever possible, obvious but not always easy. Flights will blow your personal 'carbon budget' out of the water. Offset whenever you do fly. . 🚶🚴🏾‍♀️🚉Walk, cycle & take public transport. If driving car share, use car sharing apps. . 🍃💨Switch to green energy such as @ecotricity upping investment in a green energy economy. . 🖐️🛑📲👕👟💷Stop buying crap- electronics, clothing, gadgets & other paraphanalia. If you must buy stuff get it 2nd hand, local, ethical & avoid next day delivery/Amazon prime etc. 🚛🚚🚛🚚🚛🚚 Continued 👉

Utkatakonasana is not so easy in jeans. It's why I normally wear yoga pants all the time so I can break out the shapes on a whim 😁🤸 Seriously though, adult life can really restrict our range of movement: sitting, standing, walking sensibly & confining our movements into those that are socially acceptable for the situation. If you watch kids the way they move is so much more diverse, expressive & that will challenge their range of motion, proprioception & comfort zone on a daily basis. They will probably fall over, go upside down, laugh over & over & raise their body temperature from movement every day. I'm not suggesting we all break out a horse stance in a meeting but diversifying the way we use our bodies daily is so brilliant for health, physical & mental well-being. . . . . . . #movement #moveyourbody #yoga #asana #movementforlife
